Blake Robinson

Lakota West HS Class of 2008 Inaugural TCF Scholarship Recipient Projected OSU Class of 2012.

We are very pleased to announce that we have been fortunate enough to find a very deserving candidate for our first scholarship award. Although the circumstances are always unfortunate for our candidates, it is up to them to make the most of their situation and lead by example in pursuing their dreams. Our candidate, Blake Robinson, defines the word "leader" through her actions and attitude. Almost 2 short months ago Blake's mother, Alice Kreidenweis, passed away from what doctors discovered to be a brain aneurysm. Alice died at the ripe age of 42 and left behind Blake, 17, and Morgan, 13. Since the shocking events leading to her mother's death, Blake has continued building on her 4.3 GPA and maintaining her commitment to her sister Morgan by picking her up from after school functions and making sure she makes it back to her new residence across the border in Indiana. Blake also spends extra time working a part-time job and involves herself in organizations like Young Life. On December 14th, 2007, Blake Robinson will be awarded the inaugural scholarship by The Thomas Clark Foundation (TCF) at halftime of the Lakota West vs. Oak Hills Boys Basketball game. It will be a high point for the TCF to award the scholarship to such a deserving young lady. With the scholarship, Blake plans on attending The Ohio State University en route to pursuing a nursing career. Although it takes a tragedy to find a recipient under our scholarship parameters, these children that lose a parent can finally get a piece of good news from the Foundation. Blake couldn't fit the mold of a model recipient any better. The President and Founder of The Thomas Clark Foundation, Joe Clark, had this to say about the inaugural scholarship presentation; As one of "Thomas Clark's children, I can tell you that it is an honor to provide opportunity, both monetarily and spiritually, to such a wonderful young woman. I speak on behalf of our family, the Board of Directors and supporters of the TCF when I say that we feel truly blessed to be here for such a wonderful and humble recipient. Her mother would be proud."
